Doll Parts

Here are some pictures of mannequin parts in disarray (and a really awesome doll house that I want to live in!) that I took on my mission to find a new mannequin. Some of them are questionable....

This Weekend

This weekend I'll be participating in an eco lifestyle event called The Ki, located on Treasure Island in San Francisco. My lingerie will be part of the Smart Living Pavilion, specifically as part of the "EcoSex" vignette, hosted by Stefanie Weiss, author of Eco-Sex: Go Green Between the Sheets and Make Your Love Life Sustainable. Other showcasing brands include JimmyJane, Maxim feminine care, and Sir Richards condoms.

Strange Observations

If you stand too close, you turn into a water bottle!

My chandelier makes giant candle shadows on the wall

I love this tacky seafoam woodgrain siding!

And last but not least, an awesome trashcan near my house.

I NEED THESE!

While reading the frou frou fashionista blog (a great source of lingerie inspiration,) I stumbled upon these! If anyone knows how much I love rabbits (I have a pet rabbit) you will understand that, although they are tacky, I need them in my life! You may be seeing them in a photo shoot in the near future....

starting to think about halloween....

I'm loving this rainy fall weather...all I want to do is go pumpkin picking and go on a haunted hayride! Halloween always sneaks up on me and I pretty much end up being a zombie every year (although I make a pretty good zombie,) but this year I'm going to plan out and make an awesome costume. I'm thinking along the lines of vampire bat?? Here is a picture of a bat cape that I made last year for my boyfriend's dog- it's velvet with floral lining and stitched with boning to hold the shape.

And here are some inspirational photos from last year's Harper’s Bazaar UK November ’09. The spread is titled "Mystery in the Moonlight" shot by Michaelangelo di Battista. It's like a nerdy horror dream come true!

Working On Some New Stuff

Sometimes when I'm working I like to document the fabrics that I use so that I don't forget what they looked like when they're gone. These are some shreds from my serger of two prints that I used to create Tailfeather Bloomers for a wholesale order for Azaleas in NYC.

And the first sample of many more things to come!

Brooklyn Museum Inspiration

I took a bunch of photos at Brooklyn Museum the other day and found some unexpected inspiration:

scallop edges

Gaudi-like hat

sarcophagus collage

pink/red/black

sharp angles/blocked colors

skyscraper mirror and brush set looking very "vintage futuristic"

New Designs

Hello everyone! I'm so happy to announce that there are a bunch of new things in my store! All of the images were taken by the talented Josh Marx when I was in Nashville for the Naked Without Us event. We had such an amazing time in Nashville- met the friendliest people in the world, ate awesome food, went to some awesome bars, did some vintage shopping, got stuck in a monsoon, and chased tornadoes all the way back to Brooklyn. I'll post some of those photos soon, but for now here are some of my favorite shots:
